New Jersey’s Dumbest Laws

Whether you live in the Garden State or you have just passed through it on occasion, you will get a kick out of some of New Jersey’s dumbest laws. In fact, some are not dumb; they are down right funny. The following is a list of some of the dumb and funny laws in New Jersey.

When it comes to operating a motor vehicle there are a lot of dumb laws in New Jersey. For instance, it is an actual law that motorist must honk to warn those they are passing on a highway. Law makers must like using their horns in the Garden State because another dumb law in New Jersey requires that motorist honk if they pass bicyclist, people skating, and people skateboarding. Furthermore, in New Jersey, if you want to fuel up your vehicle, it is against the law for you to pump your own gas.

There are also a few funny laws in New Jersey as well. Like the one that makes it illegal for a man to knit during fishing season. Or, the one that makes it a crime to frown at a police officer.

In addition to these funny laws, some of New Jersey laws are just pointless. Like the one that makes it illegal for a person convicted of DUI to have personalized license plates. Or the one that makes it a crime to slurp your soup.

Some of New Jersey’s dumbest laws are just outdated. Like, the one that makes it illegal for car dealerships to open on Sundays. Or, the law that makes it illegal for a car to pass a horse drawn carriage. Plus, if you are planning on delaying or detaining a homing pigeon, you are breaking the law if you do so in the great state of New Jersey.
